BCeID uses a username and password to grant access to government services. Compared to BC Services Card Login or Person credential, it’s not as secure and privacy-preserving.
For government teams considering new projects, we strongly recommend a different identity solution. BCeID is also not recommended for services where information accuracy is critical.
Types of BCeID
There are 2 types of BCeID:
- Basic BCeID, used to access a service in a personal capacity
- Business BCeID, used to access a service in a business capacity
